“Tattoos, Tremolo, and Telecasters.” “Southern-Gothic Rock and Roll.” “Balls-Out Evil Country.” “Soundtrack to a lost Robert Rodriguez film.” People have a hard time labeling The Skeletons. The band draws on influences from all types of music, including surf, rockabilly, country, folk, and punk rock. From these, The Skeletons have carved a sound straight out of the Texas landscape conjuring up images of desolate Texas highways drenched in a dark romanticism and rich in Tex-Mex folklore. From the Continental Club and Antone’s to a sweaty San Marcos dive bar, The Skeletons are winning fans over the old-fashioned way: one show at a time. Call them anything you want, but perhaps the only label that truly fits is “good music."

| RECENT PRESS FROM OUR SHOW AT ANTONE'S: "I got in early to catch a short set from my old pal James Bullard and returned later for a kicking set from The Skeletons — punkabilly at its very best! I have long been fond of Jeremiah and Amanda Ingram (that gal can pound the skins!), and bassist Vincent Saucedo is just pure slap-happy — but the band has taken on new life with lead guitarist Dan Nettles and mandolinist Nick Wicker. I wanted these guys to play another hour or two."-Duggan Flanakin |
